Lowriders
From using the hydraulics off of WWII bombers in the 50's, to Andy Douglas' kits in the 70's, the lowrider has been a huge part of California's history. Especially in Southern California where the latino community runs deep. There are hundreds of nationally registered car clubs in California alone, and every time there is a custom car show around town they represent to the fullest. Make your presence known, or find out more about them here... |

Street Racing
There is a strong racing culture in Southern California where it is considered to be the birthplace of North American drag racing. This popularity has led to some of the toughest anti-street racing laws in the country. San Diego was the first US city to allow the arrest of spectators attending illegal street races. It's all about staying 1-step ahead of the competition (and cops for that matter). There are always legal sanctioned events like Race Legal at the Q, or even Indy Car racing on a professional level. Whichever the case, you're always welcome here... |

Off-Roading
Whether you're a mudder, a dune basher, rock crawler, or you just love driving a lifted vehicle that can seemingly drive over traffic, then this is the place for you. Crazy gas prices won't stop people from lifting their trucks and SUV's to their legal limitations. These days oversized mud-terrain tires & giant rims can be seen everywhere from the parking lot of a Wal-Mart, to the furthest corners of the desert. Who doesn't love Big Foot? |

Luxury
There's American muscle, Asian fuel economy, but there's just something special about German engineering when it comes to luxury cars. Times have changed, and since the 80's the Asian auto manufacturers have become a lot more aggressive in the luxury car market. Regardless of who is producing it, people notice when a beautiful luxury car pulls up to the valet. Who's inside behind those black tinted windows? Someone with great taste, that's who... |

Beach Cruising
Here on the West Coast, surfers looked for an inexpensive vehicle that could handle carrying their longboards to the beach. Thus, a sub-culture was born as Woodies became a popular buy in the 40's & 50's. However, not everyone is carrying a surfboard to the beach. Convertibles and other beach cruisers have long been popular with the expansive coastline and beautiful weather that we enjoy here in California. Nothing beats cruising along the coast on a Sunday afternoon, with the top down, and your lady by your side...

Hot Rods
No matter what type of customizing you are into, the roots of it all began with the hot rods of the 40's. Of course, back then most of these backyard mechanics were working with junkyard parts, and driving their hot rods out to the desert to race them in straight-line courses. The goal was always to get the most horesepower at the cheapest price. From flatheads to Hemi's, whether you're a hot rodder or street rodder, you know how to get the most out of your car. Even if these days it has become a slightly more expensive way of life...
